These intervals, to be done correctly, should be done on an indoor trainer. Your eyes should be closed on the last couple of reps, your breathing out of control, your hands numb and you should have lost count of what rep you're on and whether you're in the ON or OFF part of each rep. Otherwise, you have not produced enough lactate to create the stimulus in the Tabata article.

An iphone Ap (there are several) that signals the beginning and end of intervals is pretty helpful.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03062289980047305569noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20624606.post-17102205670354992052010-09-29T23:48:23.697-07:002010-09-29T23:48:23.697-07:00Now that's the sort of training I can get behi...Now that's the sort of training I can get behind. My missus has been trying a bunch of things ahead of her marathon and says she's tried Tabata.

Apparently the recommendation she got was to do it at the start of a session to get the HR up and keep it there.

Now I just need to persuade her I should be allowed a turbo in our tiny flat.Alex Murrayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11043721181576136604noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20624606.post-13950915347343560612010-09-29T11:56:07.782-07:002010-09-29T11:56:07.782-07:00ace post.
20 secs all out then 10 secs recovery...ace post.

20 secs all out then 10 secs recovery for 4mins sounds savage!

totally agree with doing regular short, quality interval type sessions for cross racing. Leaves more time to rest and recover so your fresher, sooner for the next session.andytrailfettlerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03047647977683379958noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20624606.post-80822519612851277152010-09-29T05:21:36.018-07:002010-09-29T05:21:36.018-07:00Great fucking post, great clip an' all!Great fucking post, great clip an' all!Tony Fowkeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10880870274502245750noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20624606.post-49784807447252095082010-09-29T04:46:12.699-07:002010-09-29T04:46:12.699-07:00great post.... thinking of implementing these on t...great post.... thinking of implementing these on the commute...Bianchistahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14505720157166266356noreply@blogger.com
